Hey, that’s funny. I bought exactly that same Canon Serenar 50/1.8 to use it on my M4-2 a few days ago. And have to say I was blown away by the first results. I’d love to here your opinion on that gem! So yeah, a video about it would be awesome!
Super exciting that the zine is finally together, my preorder is in! I just started working at a new company and have like zero vacation time which is why I haven't been able to sign up for a workshop but if you end up coming to the Bay Area, CA and do a meeting, I'm in for sure. Also, definitely want to see a video with more of that vintage lens.
the 50 f1.8 from canon is a wonderfull little lens, i was thinking of getting one untill i discovered de nikkor 5cm f2 hc, which i immediately fell in love with, you should try it some time, amazing little lens it is. Much sharper the the f1.4 version and with better bokeh in my opinion

I have the Canon 50mm f/1.4 version of their LTM lens and that one is sooooperb, usually called the Japanese Summilux, and for good reason. You should try one out. The Canon f/1.8 versions are good but tend to get haze quite easily and hard to find a really clean version. Lucky if yours is really clean. I also have a pristine Nikkor 5cm f/2 h-c, which is actually a DR lens, and is also fantastic!!! Can't say it is sharper or better than the Canon f1.4, and not even called a Japanese Summicron, but good nonetheless. The difference is that the Nikkor can focus really really close. Like, less than a foot away.
save traveling bro!
congrats on the zine. yes, would absolutely like to see the canon lens featured soon. have a good rest of your trip!
My go-to on my M6 and M2 is the Canon 50mm 1.4. I've never felt the need to upgrade to a Leica 50.
Great to see you back, can't wait for the upcoming content (Do the Canon and Leica vid
Good looking lens for sure... looking forward to see some pictures from that lens soon..
Great video! The canon lens is a great choice.. would be great to see some of your street work shot with that lens!
Thanks for the update. I look forward to your world-tour videos. Maybe the new Canon lens will come in handy on your tour.
IS that the serenar version of the canon lens? did you ever make a video update on it? I own the non-serenar version and am considering upgrading to it. Thanks!
Will check the zine! Always wanted to test legacy glass from Nikon and Canon on my M cameras.
I used that lens on my Leica IIIb when I had it. Gorgeous lens.
Nothing wrong with those Canon lenses, for some reason Leica owners MUST have a Leica lens on their body - keen to see your results!
I would like to see a video on the canon lens, and if you could shoot some pictures with a Summicron also to do a bit of a rough comparison that would be interesting. I have a type iv Summicron but don’t have the canon.
what an interesting video
I use Canon 50/1.4 LTM lens on my Leica. I love it!
