Have you tried cast iron skillets? I’ve never had a glass top for fear of damaging it with my cast iron collection. I’ve seen some people use them together, but I’m skeptical. It’s not like I slam them down or anything, and my husband has been eyeing this same oven. I’d like to make him happy, but the lodges aren’t going anywhere.

Thanks for the review. I've wasted like 45 minutes trying to figure out if the double doors can turn into one door like some other stoves do. Looks like bottom is big enoigh for a large turkey

I have had THREE of these stoves and obviously love it! The current one is MAYTAG and I'm sure I've had a GE but they are virtually identical! This lady should have cleaned the top! When I had my first glass top stove, I didn't realise how important it is to keep the top really clean all the time. Otherwise, it gets very tacky looking. Her comments about using the upper oven virtually all the time, I agree with except if I am roasting (even a smallish chicken) or baking as I like to have the air circulating in the larger oven. Also, the upper oven is just a fraction shallow for chickens and touch the element. For me, it has been a real success especially if I am cooking for a dinner party and I need several things going at once. If you have a fancy microwave oven which is dual purpose, everything can be ready at the same time.

hey there. thanks for the review. My wife and I are shopping for a new stove, and this really helps. Is this the stainless or the fingerprint stainless stove? Also, how's it holding up? We had whirlpool last 15 years, a Kenmore only a few years, but looking to see how GE is holding up. Thanks!

Thanks for posting the review, we're looking at this one now at Hone Depot (considering this vs. the one with the controls on the front). Unfortunately they don't have a floor model of this one. In the bottom oven, with the rack at the lowest point, how much clearance is there for a tall item?
